I am extremely disappointed with my experience after purchasing a grill from P.C. Richard & Son over Memorial Day weekend.
When I purchased the grill, my salesperson, Oliver, was very helpful, and I even left him a five-star review because I was pleased with the service I received.
Unfortunately, that positive experience ended after the sale.
On the Fourth of July, I discovered that the grill would not heat above 350 degrees. I contacted the store the same day and was told I had a one-year warranty. I was given the service department's phone number and instructed to call them directly.
When I contacted the service department, I was told I would have to pay $199 just to have a technician come to my home. That was completely inconsistent with what I had been told regarding the warranty.
I called Oliver back to explain what had happened and asked for assistance. Instead of helping resolve the issue, I received excuses. I requested to speak with a manager or have one return my call. I was assured someone would contact me.
No one ever did.
What has been most disappointing is not just the defective grill, but the complete lack of customer service after the sale. A company should stand behind the products it sells and follow through when a customer has a legitimate warranty concern.
I hope P.C. Richard & Son reaches out to resolve this matter because, at this point, I am very disappointed with the way this has been handled.
