I’ve thought long and hard about leaving a low review here but Ultimately I have to. I’ve spent well over $1000 here on a variety of products. This has been my experience with the products: LEGO sets missing bags requiring me to call LEGO and have them help me get the missing bags. Their advice was be careful on the secondary market. But how am I to know there’s missing bags unless I open it and count the bags? There’s a sign in the store that states once you leave that’s basically it, so I guess I have to stand there and go through every single item before I leave.
I bought a pair of CAT boots. Got it home and the boots had a crack in them which made them no longer water proof which is the entire point of this work boot.
Bought a pair of alien ware headphones: horrifying awful scratching noise in the right ear. Would I have known that without charging them up literally right on the spot in the store? Nope. Marked new in the auction.
I bought a few sets of locks: they were missing the keys, rendering the locks useless. I was given a different one the second time I bought that did have the keys but it was not the same brand, which means I never would have bid as high as I had knowing that because the value just wasn’t there.
Bought a ninja cold brew coffee machine: marked as new open box. Opened it up and it’s someone’s old coffee maker. They clearly bought the item and replaced their old dilapidated coffee brewer with the new one. Then sent it back where it somehow ended up in the hands of this auction house. I will say it did still work at least, but yea. It wasn’t new. There was a box, and there was a product. But that’s the extent of it.
I bought a motherboard and when I got it home, the unit had bent prongs rendering it trash. That one was an expensive lesson. Should I have stood in the entry way with a bright light inspecting the product over and over? Probably, according to their liability sign if I left there wasn’t anything they could do.
I will say that a couple of the larger Lego sets were in good shape, so I’ll add a star back for those.
I bought an ice maker from them and it did not have the water tank. They did the right thing by letting me choose another one, so points there.
The point is, more often than not, I had issues with at least one item every time I bought at auction. Maybe that’s just the nature of auctions. Maybe they hide behind an “as is” listing. But I feel like they could do better pulling items out of open boxes so we can see the product. The photos are often blurry and terrible.
Idk, I haven’t been here in months and I probably won’t go back. But thinking about it just upsets me.
I’ll give a gold star for the employees working the front tho. Whenever I did manage to catch a quality issue or problem, they did attempt to rectify the issue. But again, that’s when I had the time to minutely inspect ever thing I bought.
I just don’t understand how the quality inspection on these can’t be better.
I supplied images of only SOME of the issues.
Anyway, that’s my two cents.
Update: owner never takes responsibility for these issues. As you can see. He knows what he’s doing. My anger is not misplaced. I’m warning others because the problems I experienced were consistent. If you had checked these exact listings and as you claim these flaws were disclosed you’d have known better than to try to sell them as they are not fixable. Your argument that this is after all an auction is infantilizing and passes the buck to your buyer. We are trusting that the products you are selling are good, but they have consistently NOT been good. Post the screenshots of those listings with the info you’re claiming.
If you check my post history I’m not in the business of handing out bad reviews. I’m posting here because the buyer needs to be aware they are just as likely to get a god product as a bad one. This wasn’t a one off, this happened consistently over a couple of months. People reading can take it or leave it. I’ll be leaving it
