The salesperson, Pat, did not inform me at the time of purchase that in order to buy from them they had to set me up with a new credit card I did not want from the Synchrony company (including a hard credit check I did not approve of). In addition to this, in setting up the credit card account he did not put in my email address nor use my correct mailing address. He said it would take a few days to get an email confirmation about the account being set-up and then I could change the address to get my physical card in the mail and payment would be monthy installments. If I had not called the Synchrony company directly, I would not have learned that the automated account confirmation email is instant and that my email wasn’t added to the account - thus locking me out of the account online until I get the card in the mail. Having fixed the email address issue and mailing address issue with the card company, today I have gotten an email about the purchase all being on the card and instead of a monthly installment plan like I was told I was doing for this fridge, I now have to pay off the fridge completely in two weeks. After doing some digging and seeing that Synchrony has a history of negatively affecting credit scores and seeing that I must now scramble to pay off purchase that was supposed to be about $90 a month turning into a full payment before I am prepared, I am not satisfied with the procedures of this purchase. At all.
EDIT:
My credit score dropped by 18 points because if this Synchrony set-up. I worked hard to maintain my credit score, this is unacceptable.
