I was getting quotes from a couple of appliance repair companies and hadn't actually confirmed an appointment with Absolute Appliance. The morning of, they texted asking if we were still on, and I replied that I couldn't today.
Even so, a technician was still sent out. At the same time, I was expecting another appliance company, so when I got a text saying a technician was on the way, I assumed it was the company I had actually scheduled. I had a lot going on that day and didn't realize the mix-up until both technicians showed up at my house.
Because of the confusion, I ended up paying two diagnostic fees.
I want to give credit to both technicians because neither of them did anything wrong. Miguel from Absolute Appliance was great to work with. Roman from Five Star Appliance Service was also incredibly kind and understanding. Even though I had originally scheduled with Roman and he drove all the way out to my house, he told me I didn't need to pay him since he wasn't able to perform the diagnosis. I still paid him because I felt it was only fair to compensate him for his time and gas.
My issue isn't with either technician. It's with the communication. Since I had already told the owner that I couldn't, I was surprised that a technician was still dispatched. I take responsibility for not catching the confusion sooner, but better communication could have prevented this entire situation.
Overall, both technicians were professional and respectful. I just wish the scheduling and communication had been handled better, as it ended up costing me an extra diagnostic fee and created a lot of unnecessary confusion.
