I walked into this store today with the full intent of spending approximately $2,500 on a furniture set I had already picked out. I left empty-handed, not because of the products, but because of the most dismissive and unwelcoming service I have experienced in a long time.
From the moment I entered, the atmosphere felt cold. I was the only Black customer in the store, and the difference in how I was treated compared to others was impossible to ignore. I wasn't greeted upon arrival, and when the manager finally acknowledged me, he did a "speed walk" past me, offering a clipped greeting without even stopping to make eye contact or see if I needed help.
When I explicitly told him I was looking for furniture, he didn't offer to show me anything; he simply told me to "let him know" once I picked something and walked away. Later, when his colleague needed his help to give me a price, he purposely made me wait while he performed minor, non-urgent tasks around the store. It felt like a deliberate power move to make me feel invisible.
When he finally approached me with the price, his tone was impatient and dry, curtly stating, "It’s going to b 1500… and we don’t deliver," as if he couldn't wait for me to leave.
It is incredibly disappointing to be treated as an inconvenience or judged by your appearance when you are a ready-to-buy customer. I was ready to sign the paperwork right then and there, but I refuse to give my hard-earned money to a business that shows such blatant disinterest in assisting me. If you value being treated with basic human respect and dignity, I suggest you take your business elsewhere.
