ADU - Corporate Office, Warehouse, & Outlet Center

I am very disappointed. We purchased an entire house of appliances from ADU in Mechanicsville Md for my parent's apartment. The washer/dryer combo we purchased was not in the showroom so I relied on the expertise of my sales representative who offered several different options. We chose (what we thought was a nice appliance combination) but realized that it was a commercial unit (meant to accept coins and card for payment of services). Upon having it installed and attempting to run the first cycle, it agitated very aggressively. It scared my elderly parents. When contacting ADU in Mechanicsville, I was told they could not offer a refund because it had been installed and used. I told the sales rep that I had never signed an agreement that I understood the return policy or lack thereof. I asked her how the customer would know if the unit worked properly if we didn't use (or try to use) it. She attempted to appease me by submitting an application for a refund but of course, it was denied. I just wanted to know if this is standard practice, that your customers are unaware of the return policy before purchasing. If so, I will advise everyone I know to stay away from a company that doesn't communicate with its customers.

I ordered my appliances in June 2022, I was given several different dates as to when my appliances would arrive at their warehouse. I got a call that all my appliances were in 6 months later and I asked for them to be delivered, even though my kitchen remodel wasn't complete. I was told they wouldn't deliver until my contractor was completely done due to warranty issues. Well when I was ready, they sold my refrigerator that they were supposed to be holding, Here it is July 2023, over a year later and I am just getting delivery of my refrigerator. No apology, no peace offering, just it is what it is attitude. I will NEVER use ADU ever again. Stay clear!!!

ADU has turned out to be a very poor choice for us. While the initial sales experience was OK, the installation was a disaster. We have been repeatedly lied to by the managers and repair staff. They subbed the installation out to a company called Elite, who failed to install much of the equipment, damaged our cabinetry, and would never come back. We are now entering our 5th week of trying to get a resolution. There is no accountabiltiy, only a vague "corporate office". There are many appliance dealers out there - don't use this one (in Annapolis at least).
